Time‐varying frequency model for electric arc furnaces

Accurate modelling of the Electric arc furnace (EAF) is necessary to study its impact on power systems. Here, a new model for EAF presented in which both non-linearity and time-varying characteristics are taken into account. The consists seven parallel current sources represent fundamental harmonic currents. Magnitude phase magnitude second seventh harmonics considered as updated every 0.01 s. To do so, actual data recorded from eight EAFs Mobarakeh steel company (MSC), Isfahan, Iran used. Autoregressive moving average (ARMA) models employed derive parameters model. Also, different orders coefficients ARMA at each run model, enables proposed predict non-stationary stochastic behaviours over long-time periods. It shown that combined time-varying-harmonic can even generated inter-harmonics. evaluate accuracy derived spectral density (PSD) parameters, instantaneous flicker, short-term flicker by compared with data.
